Solar panel and battery storage installations

We’re specialist solar panel and battery storage installers based in the Midlands, helping homeowners take control of rising energy costs and cut their reliance on the grid. Our tailored solar packages start from just £3,200, making clean energy more accessible than ever.

Solar panels are a smart investment for any household. They can help lower your energy bills and give you greater independence by letting you store and use the electricity you generate.

With energy prices unpredictable and the UK moving towards a greener future, installing solar is one of the most practical steps you can take to protect your home, your wallet, and the environment.

Solar panel terms guide

We understand how some of the language around solar panels may be confusing. So to help, we’ve broken down some of the key ‘Solar’ terms to help you make the most informed choice possible for your solar panel installation.

How do solar panels work?

Solar energy is absorbed by the solar panel’s individual PV cells.

These cells become energised and produce an electrical charge. This charge creates a Direct Current (DC) of electricity, which in turn gets converted into the Alternating Current (AC) needed to power household appliances.

Ideally, solar panels are installed on a sloping roof as they work best when angled towards the sun.

They can still be installed on flat roofs where they will be titled up to recreate the angle needed to have them pointing towards the sun.

An unobstructed south facing roof is ideal for solar panels as they receive the maximum amount of sunlight hours during the day.

East and west facing roofs are still suitable, but will typically 80 – 85% of the energy generated by solar panels on south facing roofs.

North facing roofs in the UK are largely unsuitable for solar panel installations.

DC is only able to flow in one direction, whilst AC can switch periodically.

Solar panels use an ‘inverter’ to convert the sunlight generated Direct Current into the Alternating Current needed for everyday use.
